Cannabis Oil

In comparison to other intake methods, such as smoking or vaporizing, cannabis oil provides patients more precise dosing and longer lasting effects. These products can be administered under the tongue straight from the dosing syringe or incorporated into various recipes.

Quality is of utmost importance to us. Aphria’s cannabis oil products are produced using C02 extraction methods that preserve purity and ensure safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

1What if I need immediate relief?
Vaporizing dried cannabis is a suitable option for patients who require immediate symptom relief.
2Do I need to heat cannabis oil to activate it?
Aphria’s cannabis oil products are already active and ready to be consumed. These products are not suitable for vaporization.
3My prescription is dosed in grams, do I need a new prescription for oil?
No, you do not need a new prescription. Use Aphria’s equivalency factor calculator to determine how much cannabis oil your prescription allows you to order.
4What is a ‘carrier oil’?
Health Canada requires Licensed Producers to dilute the concentrated cannabis extract with an alternate substance, called a carrier oil. Aphria uses MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides) oil as the carrier substance in all of our cannabis oil products.
5Why does Aphria use MCT oil?
‘MCT’ stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides. This is a naturally occurring oil that is used widely in foods, pharmaceuticals, and nutritional supplements.

- MCT oil is highly stable, with a 2-3 year shelf life. Unlike most natural oils, MCT oil will not go rancid.

- MCT oil is flavourless, odourless, and has no level of toxicity.

- MCT oil is highly permeable in the human body, which will effectively aid in the absorption of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids.

- Unlike other carrier oils, such as coconut oil, MCT oil is non-allergenic.

- MCT oil is non-GMO.
